New Season Designs!!! - Take a Trip
A selection of new designs are online NOW we will be adding more over the next few weeks, click on the image to view

This Spring Summer Me&Yu “Takes a Trip” with mind-bending and fantastical prints, inspired by 60’s graphics and psychedelia, 80’s rave flyers, Alice in Wonderland and other trippy tales. It’s all about losing your mind in spectacular fashion!
All the designs have crazy titles like “The Extravagant Highs of The Psychedelic Orchid”, “Magic Eye” and “Expand Your Mind” and every design tells a story. As with all Me&Yu designs the collection features a mixture of hand drawn illustrations, texts and photo montage transfers. This season introduces new styles, such as the raw edge vest, hoodie dress and hand printed tunic dress, which will sit alongside the classic range you know and love. With a kaleidoscope of colours available, the ever popular greys and whites are complimented with kiwi green, sunshine yellow and other muted brights - the perfect palette for a long hot Summer full of “Cosmic Kittens of Karma” and psychedelic "Mind Trips".

Street Style
I keep forgetting to upload the most recent street style photos by jensen, anyway here they are.
'Well due to the snow and misbehaving weather, I wouldn’t really say this month’s pictures are ‘street’ style pictures. More indoor pictures... I have been indoors snapping some of Me& Yu’s quirky customers and been to some underground Manchester nights to get involved with that scenes style,, due to cold weather thought it would be good to capture some of the finest snow fighting gear. Doc martens and fur everywhere.'
A fablously dressed Me& Yu customer here, wearing a fur coat fablously. It always a good idea to wear a belt with a lonf fur coat.OIne, it defines your waist two, it keeps it fastened if you coat dosent have any buttons. This caramel and green combo is mouth watering!
Doc Martens. Nice for your feet, nice for your eyes
Im fur mad this month, so is she. This hat and coat combo is perfect for keeping you warm. It dosen’t look Ott because the fur is in different colours . Remember this tip. If your worried about looking beasty in your fur coat (excuse the pun ) get your legs out, as it balances it out.
super russian fur hat looking swish with the shiny leather coat, but how good with it look with the me & yu coat in the back...ummph. it coat is quilted aswel!!
I love it when I’m out spotting for Me & Yu and I spot someone wearing Me & Yu. Wearing the Me and Yu current season skirt with clashing doc Martens and a vintage top is a style you have got steal. YUM
More grey black and white here and loving the purple shoes as a bright addition, these wooly burglar hats are a must for men currently so get involved
m loving this print tee on the right. The print is unusually lower than usual, and works really well. Also is grey black and white the new trend for men?!
Is this black and grey again?! YES! Great hat and illustrated tee.
Loving these lace sleeves with floaty rara skirt. here, lace is currently big feature in the up and coming ’I heart Molly’ Me & YU range so be sure to check it out

Books - you should read!!
I tend to blog about music and us on here so i thought as I'm reading a bit more at the moment I should recommend some books
I definately advise you to read anything by Alan Warner, I just finished his book 'and the worms will carry me home' so then decided to re-read all his other books. He first came to prominence around the time of Irvine Welsh and Trainspotting (the book not the film) but I always found his work to be a bit more interesting than Welsh's (I do love all Irvine Welsh's books though) anyway go to the library and start reading!!

Busy week and new stock

Those of you that have been in our Afflecks store this week will have noticed we have a couple of new designs - Cosmic Kitten and The Girl on a Fur Skin Rug - they are going down really well and we hope to have them online eithe rtoday or tomorrow. We will also have some more new designs out at the end of the weeek, we're staggering the introduction of new designs over the next few weeks.
Also this week we have a few exciting things happening - Tuesday we go to pick up a new piece of machinery in Worcester (??), probably not too exciting for you but for us it is. It's a tunnel dryer which is basically a more efficient way to dry the ink on the t's after they have been printed. This not only means we can dry things quicker but also the print will last longer, not fade as much and we will avoid those occasional cases of print fading after washing.
After the trip to Worcester we have another trip down to London for a meeting with River Island and another big retailer - exciting times!!.

We've had some cool visitors to the shop in the last few days, over the weekend Elliot and Kaya (Carl from Shameless and Effy from Skins) popped in to pick up some new Me&Yu stuff. Then today the band Semi Precious Weapons called in and said hi, their currently on tour with Lady Gaga and are playing Manchester tomorrow (hopefully wearing one of our Me&Yu leopard jumpsuits) click on the pic to go to their myspace.

Margin Tradeshow, Mr Wingate
We've been a bit quite on the blogging front as we've been down at the Margin Tradeshow in central London, it was a great event and we meet lots of key buyers and bloggers. We also met the lovely Sam Wingate of Mr Wingate fame, alot of the other brands there were your normal 'streetwear' t-shirt brands with nice machine screen printed graphics so it was nice to meet a fellow 'hand printer'. Check out his site

Massive Attack
Massive Attack have always been a band that I like but don't really listen to alot, but I have to say the artwork for their new album is amazing. I also like the fact that the London Undeground have refused to display their posters because they look too much like 'street art', they said if the edges were sharpened and the paint drips removed they might allow them!!!!!!

Vice Guide to Liberia
So I don't mean to go on about VBS.tv (Vice internet tv channel) but you should really watch the Vice guide to Liberia - it is pretty amazing/shocking/scary/educational/pretty much every emotion. Seriously it's a million times better than 'my fat child with 10 legs' or whatever channel 4 tries to pass of as documentary film.
22nd January 2010, 10.37pm
Lady Sovereign
Here's a pic of Lady Sovereign and Katya - and the guy in the middle is wearing a Me&Yu vest, and we're pretty sure the glassses sov has on are from our shop (with the lenses taken out)

Vic Reeves
So yesterday we got a belated Christmas present, and it was Vic Reeves Book of Knowledge, which I have to say is pretty much the best book I've ever seen. Now obviously we all know Vic Reeves as a comedian, and I remember the silly invention drawings he used to do on the big night out, and I did have a vague recollection that he painted, but this book made me realise what a pretty amazing artist he is - and he makes you laugh at the same time!!! I really would recommend buying it - also click on the images to see some of his artworks

Miss Bugs
Before I remembered about the Vic reeves book I was searching on some of my favourite blogs for something to show you and I came across Miss Bugs on the Wooster Collective Site the work blew me away -so have a look
